Kevin has decided it’s time to see the world and fully embrace his new role as the grandparent who gets in everyone’s way at school drop-off and pick-up.

In all honesty, it has been my absolute pleasure to work with Kevin over the past 29 years. We first worked together in 1996 at CBA Financial Services, right up until I left the CBA in March 1999. About 18 months later, Kevin joined me at Systematic Financial Services Pty Ltd (later XPAL Planning), where we continued working together until the business was sold in 2011.

We parted ways for a few years after that—Kevin went on to establish Pilot Wealth Management Pty Ltd, while I was required to spend two years with the purchaser. After leaving their service (two years and one month, to be exact), I set up my own business. With some family matters unfolding at the time, it made perfect sense for us to join forces again, and in 2014 I reunited with Kevin at Pilot Wealth Management.

Kevin has been fantastic to work with throughout the years. Anyone who knows him will be familiar with his wonderfully warped sense of humour, which often masks his genuine care and concern for others. I will especially miss our banter—each of us bouncing off the other to stir up the team. Denise says she won’t miss it… but we’ll see!

I could say much more, but those who know Kevin—many for even longer than I have—will already understand what a character he is and how much he has contributed.

So, in closing, we wish Kevin all the very best in retirement. He will always be welcome in our offices whenever he’s passing by. We might even convince him to look over the odd compliance matter while he’s here… Just joking, Kevvie. Paula’s bickies will always be waiting, and you’re most welcome to join us for morning tea or a pub lunch anytime.
