Well it is Tax Season, so of course the scammers are targeting people with tax related Scams.

One of our clients received the following text message on their phone

Please never click on any links sent to you in a text message.  No government agency or bank will ever send you links.  They will tell you to log into their site.  You need to find their site yourself.

A couple of clues to this being a scam;

1. It is from GOVMMV.
2. Finalise is spelt with a Z
3. the link.  Well all our government address’s end in .gov.au
4. Our government never sends links.

If you ever receive a text requesting your provide information via a link.  If in doubt, contact the supposed sender to confirm and not by their link or phone number provided.  Look it up.
